Yes, I have his estate records, nothing that says where he is buried. Only that James & Barbary McCubbins were living on this land, when Will was drawn up.. Lots #7 & #8 on block 24, North Salem, OR.

Nancy, what is his name? Did he have a Donation Land Claim (pioneers previous to 1859 statehood could claim land). I have a reporduction of a map from 1878. The roads aren't named, but I might be able to find his name. There is a major road that I think is Market Street. Big Lots old location was on Market and Lancaster Drive--that's a ways out in the country in those days--several miles from downtown Salem. I'll check it out when I get his name--the plots arent't numbered in the way you listed, but I'll see what I can do!

Hi Glen, I've check all those places. You know I typed in Lots # 7 # 8, in block # 24 North Salem, OR. on Google & came up with this address of the 'Big Lots store' in 4040 NE Market St, Salem, OR. 97301 on those lots maybe, I wonder if that could be his land.. Now Im wondering what the nearest cemetery would be to 'Big Lots', lol Nancy

Salem Archives my have the land records or Sanborn Fire Maps possibley could show the Property,
IS there a death record or certificate or newspaper notice that might show where he is buried they were not common
at that time but it could be a chance, also check, Find A Grave and the Oregon Gravestone Project.

I found my 3rd Ggrandfather's Will today. Had to look for it for a while because I had put it away in bins. I am wondering if someone could help me on a map where his property was in 1877, NORTH Salem, Lots # 7 # 8, in block # 24, NORTH Salem? I still can not find his grave & maybe he is buried on the land.
