[Orlsta] update on the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2011 LSTA funding

Dear Grantees,

We want to give you another update on the Federal Fiscal Year(FFY) 2011 LSTA funding situation.

For OBOB, OSLIS, L-net, Sage Courier, and OLA Scholarship, and the Clatsop and Linn County Extending Services grants - you are currently funded on FFY10 at least through June 30, and we still hope that the FFY11 situation will be resolved by then.  This should not affect you.

The Federal government is operating on a continuing resolution in two week increments.  MaryKay Dahlgreen, Program Manager of Library Development Services, and I were in a meeting with the Institute for Museum and Library Services, which funds LSTA, last week.  The IMLS is considering if it can release another increment of LSTA funding. If they offer any additional funds, the Oregon State Library will ask to receive them to start more FFY2011 grants. There are currently nine projects totaling $296,520 waiting to start.

Again,  IF YOUR GRANT

*         Has year two or year three of the project needing to start

*         Has paid personnel on the grant

*         Would end March 31 or April 30 without funds to continue personnel

*         Has a major need for purchasing after April 1
