Klamath County to Receive Boating Facility Grants

	Klamath County will receive a financial boost through two grants
awarded to the U.S. Forest Service and the City of Klamath Falls for
boating facilities at Princess Creek and Moore Park 2.  The Oregon State
Marine Board recently approved over $3.2 million in boating facility
grants, statewide. 
	The U.S. Forest Service applied for, and was awarded a grant to
replace the existing asphalt ramp and boarding floats with a two-lane
concrete ramp with boarding floats and piles.  The grant will also help
pay for paving the circulation road and parking stalls, along with
parking accessories and signage.  The Board approved $66,250 in state
boater funds combined with $200,000 of applicant cash and $35,000 of
in-kind contributions for a project total of $301,250.
	The City of Klamath Falls applied for, and was awarded a grant
to rehabilitate the parking area adjacent to the newly completed ramp. 
This is the last phase of planned improvements to Moore Park 2.  The
Board approved $62,500 in state boater funds combined with $37,500 of
applicant cash and $500 of in-kind contributions for a total cost of
$100,500.
