Malheur County to Receive Boating Facility Grant
Malheur County will receive a financial boost through a grant
awarded for boat launch improvements at Bully Creek Reservoir. The
Oregon State Marine Board recently approved over $3.2 million in boating
facility grants, statewide.
Malheur County applied for, and was awarded a grant to replace
the existing boat ramp with a new concrete ramp, a new guideway and
boarding floats. The ramp will be extended by 300 feet, allowing boaters
to access the water at low pool levels. The Board approved $116,250 in
state boater funds combined with $20,000 of applicant cash and $11,000
of in-kind contributions, $60,000 of cash from the federal Bureau of
Reclamation, and $228,750 in federal Sport Fish Restoration funds from
the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for a project total of
$436,000.
