Malheur County Marine Patrol Recognized for Boating Education

[cid:image004.png at 01CB7C31.00A50E90]                The Oregon State Marine Board recognized the Malheur County Marine Patrol Unit at the Marine Board's annual Law Enforcement Conference held in Bend, on October 19.
                The Malheur County Sheriff's Office received the Public Education Award for their contributions to Oregon's [cid:image006.png at 01CB7C31.00A50E90] Boater Education Program.  The Marine Patrol Unit conducted 31 boater education classes educating 1,859 students.  The marine patrol unit also participated in several events to help educate the public about the aquatic invasive species prevention program efforts as well as boating education.  "Their education and outreach in the community is stellar," said Marty Law, Boating Safety Program Manager for the Marine Board.
