Marine Board Approves Grant to Replace Dock on Olive Lake in Grant County

The Oregon State Marine Board approved a grant to replace the courtesy dock on Olive Lake in Grant County, on June 27 at their quarterly meeting held in Sisters, OR.
The U.S. Forest Service applied for, and received a grant to replace the courtesy dock at the campground.  The Board approved $24,200 in state boater funds combined with $4,510 of in-kind contributions, and $29,400 in applicant cash for a project total of $58,110.
Olive Lake is a 160-acre lake located at the 6,200 foot elevation with trout and kokanee fisheries.  The existing dock provides access for boaters who are camping at the lake.
The Oregon State Marine Board is funded entirely by user fees, and the revenue generated from the fees goes back to boaters in the form of boating facility improvements, law enforcement services, and education and outreach.
