I am a reference librarian at the Oregon State Library.  I am trying to find out if any of our state agencies lease check scanners, and if so, the name of the vendor. I would also be very interested in knowing if there is a resource for used/refurbished scanners.

The State Library has an historic collection of several hundred thousand index cards, 3 x 5 in size.  We would like to be able to scan each card, creating a digital image.  I am hoping that a check scanner could make the project easier and would work somewhat like a camera, capturing a digital picture of each card.

Any information, referrals, etc. that you could share with me would be greatly appreciated.
