Subject:               CHRO Policy Updates





The CHRO has made changes to the policies listed.  Please share this information with staff in your agency.

The policies are attached and will be available shortly online on the CHRO Policy Unit's website.

The following summarizes the changes:

Family and Medical Leave 60.000.15. Updates to the policy reflect changes to the law and include:

  *   Sections (3) and (4).  Separates the qualifying purposes and amount of leave for FMLA and OFLA
  *   Section (11). Solidifies policy that OFLA is to be taken concurrently with Paid Leave Oregon

  *   Section (21). Refers to the Paid Leave Oregon policy addendum regarding the use of accrued leave while receiving Paid Leave Oregon.

  *   Section (23)(a)(1). Reinstatement rights to an equivalent position.

Addendum E Family and Medical Leave 60.000.15 - modifies the Family and Medical Leave policy to include to include four to six additional weeks of OFLA, as appropriate, for reasons
approved by Paid Leave Oregon for the period of September 3, 2023 through December 31, 2023

Paid Leave Oregon 60.000.04. - Updates to the policy reflect the Paid Leave Oregon law and approved policy changes.

Sections (3) through (18) have been added to reflect use of Paid Leave Oregon, reference to Addendum A for use of accrued leave receiving Paid Leave Oregon, job protection and continuation of health and dental benefits and the effect of taking Paid Leave Oregon on employment benefits.

Addendum A Paid Leave Oregon 60.000.04 - Modifies Paid Leave Oregon policy to include use of accrued leave in any increment while receiving Paid Leave Oregon benefits the period of September 3, 2023 through December 31, 2023.
